Welcome to Memorial Family Medicine
Here at MFMRP we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that emphasizes professional growth and personal development. Residents are supported throughout their tenure through a formal faculty mentorship program. Further, our residency culture generates an environment of informal mentorship and leadership amongst residents that creates life-long learners, and ensures every resident leaves well prepared for their future practice.
Our primary teaching hospital, Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital is a large community hospital in a medically underserved community within Houston; with 543 beds, five ICUs, level IV trauma center, Labor & Delivery, Level III NICU, Heart and Vascular Institute, and Neuroscience Center.
Physicians at Sugar Creek, our outpatient Family Medicine Center, is located in Sugar Land, TX - a diverse suburban community of Houston. Residents will experience providing interdisciplinary care alongside a Pharmacist, Dietician, Psychologist, and Behavioral Health Counsellor to provide comprehensive patient care. All residents have personal provided Sonosim POCUS training kits to maximize utility of the clinic’s Butterfly POCUS units. We use single EMR, Epic, for both the hospital and outpatient clinic, enabling us to provide seamless, high-quality patient care.
Houston itself is a diverse and dynamic city that offers outstanding restaurants, cultural activities, and an exceptional quality of Iife. Both training facilities are an easy drive from the center of Houston, so residents can explore the greater Houston area for their preferred housing location without sacrificing access to work or amenities.
Our graduates are a testament to the quality of our program. They have gone on to succeed in a variety of settings include private practice, FQHCs, Hospital Medicine, Academic Medicine, leadership and Fellowship training. Our graduates have had a 100% fellowship acceptance rate.
Thank you again for your interest in our program. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
