Our program is a well-established, unopposed, community-based Family Medicine Residency in Texas since 1970 with 14 residents per year. Over 3 years, residents become competent and confident in the management of any patient, from inpatient and critical care to outpatient medicine including procedures and maternity care. We are proud of our residents’ board scores as the highest in the region.

We train at our Family Medicine Center, Physicians at Sugar Creek in Sugar Land, providing interdisciplinary care with 40,000 visits per year, and Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, a 543-bed facility with 60,000 ER visits per year and bustling OB service in the medically underserved Southwest Houston with a highly diverse patient population.

Our graduates practice in a variety of settings: private or hospital-affiliated outpatient clinics, inpatient as hospitalists, urgent care, academic medicine, and leading major physicians' organizations nationwide.
